- An interactive data base, publishing submitted works and critiques and offering monthly prizes for best poet and best critiquer. Includes membership form and contest rules.
- Submissions are invited for a satirical poem, in the spirit and style of Swift, on a topic of social/political interest. First Prize: Euro 1,000. Closing Date: July 24, 2004.
- Prize: $1000 plus publication. Deadline: March 2005. Reading Fee: $15 (includes a year's subscription).
- Seeks manuscript collections of unpublished poems. Prize: $500 cash, plus publication. Reading fee: $15. Deadline: October 31.
- Poetry prizes from $1,000 to $25,000 will be awarded for heartfelt lyric poems celebrating the spirit of life. Deadline: Dec. 10th 2004. Entry fee: $10. Open only to unpublished poets under the age of 40.
- Seeks entries of one to four original poems, totalling no more than five pages. All styles and genres will be considered, including prose poems. Entry fee: $12. Prizes: $300, $150, and $50. Submit between March 1- July 1.
- Offers cash prizes for original poems on any theme, up to sixty lines in length. Deadline: July 31.
- Offers a number of contests throughout the year, international in scope, for short poems.
- Provides details of haiku contests around the world.
- Closing December 30, this semi-annual contest is open to all Christian poets. All forms of poetry are accepted. Entry fee: $3 per poem (no more than a single page in length). Prize money totals $95.
- America magazine sponsors annually the Foley Poetry Award with a $1,000 prize. Submit only one poem of 30 lines or fewer. Poems must arrive between January 1 and the third Friday of April. Free entry. No email submissions.
- Seeks original, unpublished verse for website publication. No maximum word or line length. Two contests per year with entry fee and cash prizes.
- Sponsored by the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, this annual contest seeks original poems by emerging writers. Two winners will receive $500 each, plus publication. Submission fee: $15. Deadline: July 31.
- Contestants submit a collection of poems (16–24 pages). Up to five winners share a pool of One Thousand Pounds, plus publication. Closing date: 31 October. Entry fee: £18 per collection.
- Established to give a voice to writers of English poetry in Israel, this competition seeks poems on general themes, not more than forty lines in length. Entry fee: $5. Deadline: October 7, 2003.
- An annual contest for a book-length collection of poems, ranging from forty to one hundred manuscript pages. Prize is $1,500, plus publication. Closing date: mid-January. Sponsored by the University of Colorado.

- An annual prize for an original poem on a "people before profits" theme. $10 entry fee. $200 prize. Deadline: March 1.
- Original manuscripts of at least fifty pages are sought by The University of Massachusetts Press which will publish the winning collection of original poetry. Entry fee: $15. Deadline: September 30, 2003.
- Original poems are sought, under 200 words (not lines) in length. Email submissions only. Deadline: November 30. Entry fee: C$10. First prize: C$200. Second prize: C$50.
- Annual contest seeks both single and multiple (six to ten) poems, plus short stories and essays. 2,500 pounds in prize pool. Entry fees vary from 4 pounds to 10 pounds. Closing date: October 31, 2003.
- Annual contest, closing in March, offers a $300 cash prize.
- Annual contest, co-sponsored by the 92nd Street Y Unterberg Poetry Center and The Nation magazine, offered to poets who have not yet published a book of poems. Entry fee: $5. Deadline: January 17.
- Dedicated to the promotion of poetry, the Cambridge Center for Adult Education offers Annual awards for performance and written poetry, to the poets of Massachusetts.
- Griffin Poetry Prizes, worth C$40,000 each, are annual international and Canadian literary awards for poetry written or translated into English. Publishers only are invited to submit collections of poetry in traditional print format each calendar year.
- An annual poetry competition, seeking original, unpublished poems, five to thirty lines in length. Theme: wolves. Closing date: December 12. Entry fee: $5.
- Sponsored by the Tallahassee Writers' Association, this annual poetry contest offers prize money totaling $460. Deadline: June 30. Entry fees: $5 for poems up to 50 lines in length; $3 for haiku.
- Monthly poetry contests for members, subjects and rules varying every month.
- An international creative writing competition for poetry (under 42 lines) and short stories (under 5,000 words). Prize money totals ten thousand pounds. Entry fee: Six pounds. Deadline: June 30, each year.
- Features quarterly poetry competitions, with no entry fees. Open to all, though entries from children are judged by less strict criteria. Cash prizes total $175.
- Word Salad Poetry Magazine sponsors a poetry contest as a fundraiser for "Poets Against Poverty." Prize money totals $600. Minimum entrance fee $10. Deadline: June 30.
- Seeks original, unpublished poetry up to 60 lines in length. Cash prizes total $1,000. Entry fee: $5. Deadline: February 28.
- Open for entries between March and September 2005 with a 200 word limit and no entry fee. Includes information about the rules, a competition handbook and past winners.
- Annual contest seeks original, unpublished poems, no more than two manuscript pages in length, on any themes, and in any genre. Prize money totals $1,300. Sponsored by the Poetry Center at Passaic County Community College. Deadline: April 1, 2004.
- HerPoetry sponsors a monthly poetry contest on a given theme. Prizes are modest, but entry is free.
- The Idaho Prize is open to U.S. authors only. It offers $1200 plus publication for a book-length poetry manuscript of 48 pages or more. Reading fee: $20. Deadline: May 15, 2005.

- An annual award of $100,000 is offered for a published book of original poetry by a U.S. citizen or legal resident alien.
